Life's an Expedition now sells from: ebay, Etsy, Artfire and Half.com. This directory will help you find what you are looking for and lead you to the correct site. Go to ETSY to find:
Two of the yarns shown in this photo below are sold out. We still have Medieval Violets (the big one) on Etsy.
"You give me the best shipping discounts on the planet and I thank you." --feedback received Feb. 7, 2009 "This is some of the most wonderful yarn I've seen, and I've been knitting for 45 years."--October 8 email from customer Also go to ebay if you seek imported ethnic housewares, especially top-quality handwoven Guatemalan linens and/or:
Stock on ebay is low and we may not be able to restock until the economy improves. [SFX: violins playing in a minor key.] Looking for recent used books? List Life's an Expedition as one of your favorite sellers on ebay and you will see on your Favorite Sellers page a link to our recent books on Half.com, all of which are very reasonably priced. Q: Is Etsy, Artfire or ebay better for yarn shopping? A: Either Etsy or Artfire. Etsy is rapidly becoming yarn-specific, whereas Artfire has a very wide range of merchandise. On both sites, the prices are low and the shipping is as close to actual as I have been able to get it. As always, if you end up paying more than a few dollars over the exact amount of shipping (especially if I am able to recycle packaging and/or did not need bubble wrap for your order) I will CREDIT YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT. We always do that, but I have more flexibility on Artfire and Etsy than I ever had on ebay. Lower seller fees enable me to share the savings with my customers. The better we manage our selling fees, the more we can offer to you at a better price. That's what this is all about. We are grateful to ebay for getting us a toe-hold in this business, but the fees are stabbing us in the back and obviously, it would not be kosher to announce this in our ebay store...although ebay is mighty tough-skinned! So we are setting up shop on the other two sites. Thank you for your support and your patience...and for taking the time to visit our web site. I hope the information here will help you determine which site has the merchandise that best suits your needs. Northern Illinois University Commemorative Buttons may be ordered here. Life's an Expedition does not take a profit in this endeavor, nor will the sale of buttons be used to fund this web site. |
Site map: who, what, when, but most of
all, where. ETSY is becoming mostly yarn...but not entirely. Artfire has most of the same yarns listed on Etsy--available to addresses within the US--plus many books and the widest selection of any of our selling venues. On the day I am writing this, there are about 400 listings, perhaps half of them yarn, a quarter of them rare books and the other quarter mostly housewares or accessories. Here's the lovely link: Go I am a fiber artist. I write, design, code and manage this web site. Not very well, but somebody's got to do it.
