Illinois University Commemorative Buttons
I
designed
and ordered buttons to sell on ebay. All profits would have gone to
NIU or whatever memorial or scholarship fund was established in honor
of
the students slain in the Valentine's Day shooting; however, we are now
merely selling them "at cost." You are paying what we paid for them. It
is a non-profit endeavor. The button is about
2 1/4 inches in diameter and depicts a solemn black "broken heart"
against a muted red background. In white lettering on the black heart
are the words, "NIU remembers February 14, 2008." In small letters on
either side of the heart are the URL of this web site--for those who
want to order more of the buttons--and the notation that any profits
will
be donated to NIU. Since you are paying actual cost, there are no
profits. (Please make donations directly to NIU.) To order buttons, please send a self-addressed
envelope to: NIU Button, Life's an Expedition, P.O. Box 384,
Geneva, Illinois, 60134 and include
a check for $13.75 for five buttons payable to Life's an Expedition.
Orders paid by cashier's check or money order will be filled quickly. Personal checks will necessitate a three-week delay while we wait for funds to clear your bank. But if that doesn't matter to you, we are okay with it. A tribute to the fallen classmates is valid at any time of year. On
this site, we are accepting only orders for shipment within the United
