Mission Statement Ever Written?
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Life’s
an Expedition Online Privacy Statement ( This
Online Privacy Statement was put into practice at a time when we had an online retail site within this web site that collected such information as name, address, phone number, credit card information, etc., in an attempt to process orders. We no longer process orders through the Life's an Expedition web site, hence we have no fill-in-the-blank order forms through which you provide information. There is a magazine section of this web site, a few promotional pages about our merchandise, and links throughout the site that will lead you to our merchandise for sale in the Life's an Expedition store on ebay.com. All of this statement covers the activities of this web site, but we have no control over the practices of ebay.com. This web site is
written, designed, coded and operated by D. J.
Runnels, which is a pen name. Any personal information collected by ebay.com takes place when you are on an ebay.com web page.
The information covered by this statement is information an individual
provides
to Life’s an Expedition during an online transaction, which we no longer gather from our web site visitors. Life's an Expedition keeps your visitor and tracking information, email, questions and comments pertaining to this web site confidential. Any emails, questions or comments pertaining to ebay.com and submitted via ebay.com may appear on ebay.com without your permission but at no time will we display your full name with address, e-mail address and/or delivery information on the Life's an Expedition web site OR ebay.com OR Etsy.com OR Artfire.com because we do not want to compromise your privacy. Nevertheless, please be aware that we do not control these other sites. All credit card numbers collected by Life's an Expedition are expunged from our records in our office, to ensure that such information will never fall into the wrong hands.
Life’s an Expedition may send you e-mails pertaining to your past purchases and/or
information
and/or special offers about products and services that may be of
interest to
you, unless you indicate you do not want to receive them. We will give
you an
opportunity to let us know your preference regarding the receiving of
promotional e-mail when you provide us with your personal information
or when
we send you e-mail. If you choose not to accept this
promotional
e-mail, you
may not receive special offers that may be of value to you. This option
applies
to promotional e-mail only, as we may find it necessary to send you
e-mail
relating to your account or order. All orders placed through ebay.com are subject to rules and regulations of that site. All
promotional e-mail that you receive from Life’s an Expedition will tell
you how
to decline receiving future promotional e-mail. You may change your
e-mail
preferences at any time. If you send us
information
about others, we will use that information (usually an e-mail address)
to do
what you asked us to do for example, to send a product that you order
as a gift.
We may also send them information and/or special offers about products
and
services, but they can easily decline receiving any further
communications from
us. Life’s an
Expedition will not sell, rent, or trade the personal information you
provide
online. We do share your personal information with any of our
affiliates. We may
disclose personal information to third parties without your consent as
required
by law or court order, to cooperate with Government authorities in a
criminal
investigation and to enforce or protect Life’s an Expedition's property
or
contractual rights. Life’s
an Expedition may share your personal information, as necessary, with
companies
who contract with Life’s an Expedition to fulfill and/or ship an order,
an
award, or rebate; conduct surveys; collect payments; facilitate e-mail
subscriptions; or to provide a product or service you have requested.
We
require these companies to use the shared information only for these
limited
purposes, and not to transfer the information to another party.
Life’s
an
Expedition reserves the right to transfer your personal information in
connection with the sale or transfer of all or a portion of our
business or
assets. If the business is sold or transferred, Life’s an Expedition
will give
you an opportunity to tell us not to transfer your personal
information. In
some cases, this may mean that the new organization will not be able to
continue providing to you the services or products that Life’s an
Expedition
provided. Life’s
an Expedition automatically receives and records data on our servers

the size

about
thousands of site visits and analyzed as a whole. This analysis looks
for
trends among many visitors to www.djrunnels.com

valuable. We may also collect and record
information
about what you viewed on our Web site and what key words you typed in to reach our site. Life’s an Expedition wants you
to understand
that accepting a cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or

chance to decide whether to accept it. Simply click on the "Help"
menu of your browser for information on setting cookie preferences. Life's an Expedition does not typically look at IP addresses or endeavor to track down visitor information except in cases where hackers, visitors and/or ex-spouses have been accessing the site frequently and pose a potential hazard to the webmaster. In such cases, the site usage will be noted but still not shared with others to your detriment unless we deem that such behavior was carried out with the intention of harming dj runnels or Life's an Expedition. To prevent
unauthorized access, maintain data
accuracy and ensure the correct use of information, we have put in
place
certain physical, electronic, managerial security safeguards.
While we strive to protect your personal
information, you must also take steps to protect your information. We
urge you
to take every precaution to protect your personal information while you
are on
the Internet. At a minimum, we encourage you to change your passwords
often,
using a combination of letters and numbers, and make sure that you are
using a
secure browser as you surf the Internet. Please use discretion when
posting
personal information about yourself when using the Internet. Be aware
that when
you disclose personal information on other web sites, such as your name,
member name,
e-mail address, etc., the information may be collected and used by
others to
send unsolicited e-mail. The services are open to the public, and what
you post
there can be seen by anyone and is not protected. Protecting the
online privacy
of children is especially important, and those under the age of 13 are
protected by federal law. For that reason, Life’s an Expedition does
not
knowingly permit children under the age of 13 to buy goods and services
on our
sites without verifiable parental consent. Life’s an Expedition does
not
knowingly collect or solicit personal information about children under
13,
except with their parent's express consent. If
we ever include children under the age of
13 as part of our intended site audience, those specific web pages will
be
clearly identified and provide an explicit privacy notice; and we will
provide
processes to obtain parental approval, provide access to information
and allow
parents to request removal of their children's personal information.
Life’s an
Expedition encourages parents and guardians to spend time with their
children
online and to participate in their interactive activities and
interests. Some pages of
Life’s an
Expedition web site contains links to and from other web sites and
Life’s an
Expedition is not responsible for the privacy practices of those Web
sites. Life’s
an Expedition encourages you to ascertain the privacy practices of
those Web sites. You
have the option of sending an e-mail to request a change to your
information or
a copy of the personal information we have collected about you online.
There
may be a nominal charge for information requested. For more information
about
this, or so contact us about your concerns, please contact us by e-mail
at djrunnels@yahoo.com . We
will
make every
reasonable effort to make sure your requests are met. To protect your
privacy,
proof of identity is required. Life’s an Expedition and/or D.J. Runnels
will
work with you to resolve any concerns you have about this policy. Life’s
an
Expedition reserves the right to modify this privacy statement from
time to
time, by posting an announcement on this page or, in the event
of a
material change, by notifying by e-mail all customers whose personal
information we have retained. Amongst Yahoo rules (this site is hosted by Yahoo) we found the following information which probably doesn't apply to this site since we do not have a Yahoo store, but we post it anyway, just to make sure we are complying with any and all rules: As part of the Yahoo! Search Marketing Terms and Conditions you agree to disclose in your privacy policy the use of Web beacons —electronic images called a "single-pixel GIF" that allow a web site to count users who have visited that page or to access certain cookies. The Yahoo! Store Terms of Service also require merchants to post a privacy policy which "discloses any and all uses of personal information collected from users by Merchant". The Yahoo! Search Marketing Terms and Conditions require you to include content similar to the following (excerpted from the Search Marketing Terms and Conditions): We have contracted with Yahoo! Search Marketing ("YSM"), to monitor certain pages of our Web site for the purpose of reporting web traffic, statistics, advertisement 'click-throughs', and/or other activities on our site. Where authorized by us, YSM may use cookies, Web beacons, and/or other monitoring technologies to compile anonymous statistics on our Web site visitors. No personally identifiable data is collected by or transferred to Yahoo! Search Marketing. Prior to enabling Yahoo! Sponsored Search or Yahoo! Search Marketing, merchants must update their privacy policy to include such notice to fulfill both the Yahoo! Store Terms of Service and the Yahoo! Search Marketing Terms and Conditions. This
